Doyle was named in the provisional squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers with Sweden and Austria.

But the Wolves favourite was informed by text message not to travel for international duty on Saturday, after he had scored the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Bristol City.

Doyle admitted his disappointment at not being included for the games, but Tardelli has advised the 29-year-old to remain positive regarding his future under Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni.

Tardelli said: "We love all the players who have given us many successes and all players deserve the same things. The boss can't call all the players.

"But for us, it's not finished, the time for Kevin Doyle. We know he is a good player and we know in the future, it is possible for him to come back."
