Marek Hamsik: Has committed his immediate future to Napoli

The Slovakia international has made more than 100 appearances for Napoli since signing from Brescia in the summer of 2007.

The 25-year-old, who has hit 11 goals in 41 appearances this campaign, signed a new extended contract last March that ties him to the club until 2016.

That has not quelled speculation regarding his future at the Stadio San Paolo, with rumours he could move to one of Europe's heavyweights in the summer.

Hamsik has attempted to play down those rumours by reaffirming his commitment to Napoli, who are certain to finish as runners-up in Serie A and play Champions League football next season.

He did, though, admit he is unlikely to stay at the club for the rest of his career, citing the example of Inter Milan stalwart Javier Zanetti, who has just completed his 18th season at the San Siro.

"I grew here and I'm still growing. With me the team grew too. That's why I'm happy to stay at Napoli," Hamsik said.

"This has been a great season for me, maybe my best one in Italy. I don't know if I can promise to become for Napoli what Zanetti is for Inter, but now I want to stay here."
