Ronnie Moore: Sacked by Tranmere

The news comes after the club reviewed his position following Moore admitting an FA charge of misconduct in relation to betting.

A statement on the club's official website said: "Tranmere Rovers Football Club have today terminated the employment of Ronnie Moore for being in breach of his contract.

"Moore has admitted an FA charge regarding multiple breaches of Rule E8(b) for misconduct in relation to betting and requested a personal hearing."

Football Operations Director and Club Secretary Mick Horton added: "Tranmere Rovers will not tolerate any action that damages the integrity of this Football Club.

"Any staff members found to be guilty of misconduct will face severe action."

Moore's departure comes after he was suspended as manager in February, on full pay, when an investigation was launched by the FA's Football Integrity Unit.

He is believed to have made overall losses after he placed small, accumulative bets with family members over a number of years.

While accepting the FA charge, he requested a personal hearing, where it is thought he explained he was unaware that he could not bet on competitions involving Tranmere.

heyremind me of Utd's treble winning side. Swashbuckling and risk prone. We ha Jaap Stam to paper over the cracks at the back though. Not sure they have their Jaap yet.

he solution is to not feel sorry for any of Jabba, Gold or Sullivan. They're all deeply unpleasant and all deserve each other. If only West Ham would sign Barton and Suarez then no one would ever need to despise any other club.
