Fryers was included by manager Gareth Southgate last week but the Football Association have announced that the 21-year-old didn't join up with the group at St George's Park on Sunday evening, with an injury being the reason.

The former Manchester United defender had played the entire duration of Spurs' 1-0 Premier League win over Cardiff at White Hart Lane earlier on Sunday.

No replacement has been called into the England U21 squad at this time.
