City's victory, secured by a late goal by Sergio Aguero, reduced the gap at the top to 12 points but with both sides having just seven games remaining, City can still be backed at 50/1 at Ladbrokes, William Hill and Coral to win the league.

United need only 10 points from those seven games to secure the title.

City's chances next season are much greater, with Power offering a top price of 11/5. Ladbrokes have them at just 7/4 with United at 6/4. The Red Devils can be backed at 13/8 if you shop around.

Chelsea are next at 5/1 with Betfred and it's 16/1 bar.

Hill's have already priced the two Manchester clubs up in a 2013/14 match bet and offer United at 4/6 with City at 11/10.

City skipper Vincent Kompany said Monday night's triumph would have an effect on next season's title race.

"I do believe that the way we finish this season is going to have an impact on next season," he said.

"You're always going to start from the beginning and it's a good game to have under our belt to take into next season."

Meanwhile, Coral price United up at 10/1 to break Chelsea's Premier League points record of 95. They currently have 77.

Sky Bet's winning margin market now has 10-12 points as the 6/4 favourite. United are out to 11/2 to win the league by a record tally or 19 points or more.

Finally, Coral make manager Roberto Mancini 1/2 to still be at City for the opening day of the 2013/14 season.

s it the same people that complain about Chelsea that complain about Mayweather? You should by now know what to expect from both, if you can't appreciate how good they are at nullifying their opponents then don't watch them.

I

do concede though, that getting rid of Luiz has made them less entertaining. In the same way that driving with both eyes open is less exciting, but probably a good idea.
