Olivier Giroud: Is eyeing a title charge with Arsenal this season

The Gunners last won the Premier League with their famous 'invincibles' side in 2004 but have struggled to mount a sustained title challenge since.

They have, though, consistently finished in the top four, suggesting the squad is not that far away from being good enough for a title tilt.

The Emirates Stadium outfit have been linked with a number of big name stars but have added just one player to their squad so far this summer, 20-year-old Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer from Auxerre.

Speaking from Hanoi while on the club's pre-season tour of Southeast Asia Giroud, Rosicky and Walcott all expressed their belief that the current squad can still challenge for the Premier League, even without further additions.

"We have a really good squad and I trust in our chances and our qualities to fight for the title," said France striker Giroud.

Walcott added: "Instead of challenging for the Champions League I think we will be challenging for the title this year that's my desire and I'm sure everyone else is the same.

"If players come in its going boost the whole team but what we have at the moment is good enough to win anything I believe."

Czech midfielder Rosicky was equally confident, saying: "It's very simple We want to try to go for it and try to win the league."
