The Premier League leaders are two points ahead of third place Liverpool going into the match, but Wenger feels the table has still to take shape he reckons both teams will challenge for this season's title.

Wenger said: "It's a big game for us and massively important. But I don't worry for where the teams are - you know between the teams.

"The table at the moment has no real significance. We want to be, and I think we are, title contenders - and Liverpool as well.

"And you have four other teams certainly or five who will be title contenders this year."

Wenger tried to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez during the summer transfer window, after Arsenal triggered a release clause for the Uruguay international.

But Liverpool refused to sell the player and Wenger was coy regarding any continuing interest, concentrating on Olivier Giroud's contribution instead.

Wenger said: "He plays for Liverpool tomorrow. What is important for me is the players who play for Arsenal really, not those who could play for Arsenal.

"What is very important is the players who play against Luis Suarez. That is what is important for me, 24 hours before the game.

"I believe Giroud has proven since the start of the season that he's an exceptional striker and I'm convinced he will be up for it tomorrow to show that again."

still can't see the Phil Jones thing that some people go on about. Whenever I watch him play it's a repeat of headless chicken meets a gurning Bambi on ice for 90 minutes.

P

robably the first list I've come across in a long time where I agree with a large majority of what was written. Can't agree with everything though, Zaba has had an awful season by his standards, I'd put Monreal (a player who I've never rated) up there, gotta give credit where it's due, he's really stepped up his game.
