Arsene Wenger maintains Arsenal will not be making any specials plans to try to shackle Gareth Bale in Sunday's derby at White Hart Lane.
m curious as to what image Real Madrid are trying to re-establish as I always thought their pre-Jose image was one of a bunch of a classless bullies tapping up whoever they wanted while living it large on borrowed money they're never going to pay back.
t the start of the season, after the RVP transfer, I confidently claimed that Arsenal would finish above United. I now regret it immensely.
aniel Storey generally did very well, going against the City won it last year so they're bound to win it this time grain. As for John Nicholson, I wouldn't trust him to predict correctly what day of the week it will be tomorrow.

We thought we would have to resort to another mailbox about maths but we've had some grand opinions about Man United, Newcastle, Tottenham and more. Oh and maths...
We have one Chelsea fan who recognises the job done by Rafa Benitez while there's maths from Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester. And Shawcross to Arsenal? Nah...

@Gooner12345678 - Great response there. You used a lot of words there to say absolutely nothing. Quite impressive really.

So wheresmyhair77, your just another bitter Arsenal fan clutching at straws. 12 points top of the league in the FA cup and still with a decent chance of qualifying for the next round of the CL. Your right that is not an impressive record, right? Everyone would rather be in Arsenals position.
@sheever> Well even if that was true, it meant SAF had a proper tactics even in the transfer market, where he recognized a bargain and paid what it took to get it. Wenger on the other hand, had the best striker, tried to underpay him (by offering him 100k - half his market rate) then giving all kinds of BS about how he owed Arsenal for their loyalty to pressure him to sign for cheap, finally sold him to their rival and instead bought mediocre players to replace him. Yup winning strategy indeed.
Lastly I think Wenger is a fantastic coach. His flaws are evident, he is too obsessed with playing what he considers the right way to play football, which restricts the ability to play strategically and defensively when needed and he also over rates his young plays and hence overpays them, which is why Dennilson, Bendtner, Diaby and Park will remain Arsenal players till their contract expires.

sny team in the world would make special plans for Bale. He is that good that you have to. I sincerly hope that AW is telling the truth because if he is then Bale will be the prems top scorer by Sunday night. If he is lying and you plan for him then you could beat us because we dont have anyone else knocking them in at the moment...though i hear Defoe *might* play a part.

Seriously, what response were you expecting from Wenger..."uh we have Arteta who has been running and uh focusing all week uh on Bale. uh we think he is a very good player uh but we will get wilshire and Arteta to mark him and i uh have strict instructions for Koscielny to close him down once he is within range. Uh we also told Jenkinson to push him out wide when he runs down the wing". I cant believe you would expect any manager to go into detail or even give away potential strategies to the press.

Not sure if Arsene had a wry smile on his face when he said this but I do think he is being facetious here implying its silly to ask about his specific plans/tactics for an upcoming match. Or maybe he wants to try and burst the Bale hype implying the Welshman is not that special. Or maybe what he meant was that his plans are based around his team's strengths rather that the opposition's. Wenger is more shrewd and devious than people give him credit for. Jose and SAF to some extent come across as being schemers in a more obvious fashion. But I think Msr. Wenger is not that far behind. He just hasn't been that successful recently.

Have you considered the possibility Wenger is employing a similar style of sarcasm he deployed in his last press conference?
