Sylla was one of only two signings made by Lambert during the transfer window and the Frenchman appeared as a second-half substitute against the Toffees.

Lambert said of his £1.7million capture: "He did alright considering he's only just come here.

"I think he's got loads of energy, which you need, and I thought he did really fine.

"That's the aim for him, to try and make his mark here, and we want him to get to learn the language as well.

"He's at a club where the expectancy level is a lot different to the one he's just left (Clermont Foot)."
