Aston Villa defender Dunne has not played all season due to a groin injury, while Stoke defender Wilson has been recalled after recovering from a broken leg. Everton's Coleman is also included after shrugging off a thigh problem which ruled him out of last month's 2-0 friendly win over Poland.

Wilson has only played two games for Stoke in his comeback from four months out but has made Trapattoni's squad for the matches against Sweden on March 22 and Austria four days later.

There is no place for Everton's Darron Gibson, who began a self-imposed international exile following the Republic's disappointing Euro 2012 campaign, but Stephen Kelly is included despite his public fall out with Trapattoni in the aftermath of last month's win against Poland.

Speaking in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland manager said: "Last month's friendly game against Poland was a great opportunity to work with younger players, and I saw a lot of potential from them.

"We played very well during the game, and I intend on building from that performance this month.

"These two games against Sweden and Austria are very important, and we are focused on the task in hand.

"I am confident that these players can work together to produce the results we need. Sweden and Austria are two very strong teams, who have done very well in Group C to date.

"However, I believe that our players have the mentality and attitude necessary to qualify. I am looking forward to assembling the squad on March 17."

Norwich's uncapped Anthony Pilkington is retained from the squad which faced Poland and West Brom's Shane Long is also included despite worries over an ankle injury.

The Republic of Ireland are currently third in qualification Group C, behind Germany and Sweden, with Trapattoni's provisional 29-man squad for the games in Stockholm and Dublin to be cut down to 23 next week.

Republic of Ireland squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria on March 22 and 26:

Westwood (Sunderland), Forde (Millwall), Randolph (Motherwell); O'Shea (Sunderland), St Ledger (Leicester), Clark (Aston Villa), Wilson (Stoke), Coleman (Everton), Kelly (Reading), O'Dea (Toronto), O'Brien (West Ham), McShane (Hull), Pearce (Reading), Ward (Wolves); Whelan (Stoke),

McCarthy (Wigan), Green (Leeds), Hendrick (Derby), McGeady (Spartak Moscow), Pilkington (Norwich), McClean (Sunderland), Brady (Hull); Keane (Los Angeles Galaxy), Long (West Brom), Doyle (Wolves), Sammon (Derby), Walters (Stoke), Cox (Nottingham Forest), Hoolahan (Norwich).
