Brunton Park: Home to Eric Kinder for seven years

Kinder left hometown club Blackburn's academy to join Carlisle in 2006 and has produced a string of players for the Cumbrians' first-team squad.

Eight of Carlisle's current young professionals - Mark Beck, Mark Gillespie, Brandon Gwinnutt, Jack Lynch, Brad Potts, Alex Salmon, Dave Symington and Josh Todd - have all come through the Brunton Park academy to earn their first deals.

"(Blackburn's) my hometown club and the team I support, so from that perspective it's an obvious decision to make," Kinder told Carlisle's official website.

"However, it hasn't been as easy as that. I've had a wonderful time here and I've met some fantastic people, and it's not easy to leave it behind at all.

"What I have to say is that it's a fantastic opportunity for me and it's one I can't ignore.

"Carlisle United is a great club, with really good people behind the scenes, and I know it will go from strength to strength."

lassic management. Build them up and then knock them back. Raise expectations and then dampen them. Create a dynamic where by you demand the most from your team, but where the team are given room to manoeuvre unexpected or unwanted results. Classy work by Van Gaal, he really reminds me a lot of me. A smart cookie, make no doubt.
