The pair have been promoted from the Academy to the senior backroom staff on a full-time basis having previously assisted Gary Bowyer during his two spells as caretaker boss last season.

It comes after Bowyer was confirmed as Rovers' permanent manager on a 12-month rolling contract towards the end of last month.

Bowyer has also brought Eric Kinder back to Ewood Park as Under-21 head coach, seven years after the left the club to join Carlisle's youth set-up.

"I am delighted to have Terry and Tony with me again because they played a massive part in what we did last season in keeping the club up," Bowyer told Blackburn's official website.

"They are both very hard working and share the same values as myself. They look forward to pushing the club forward and are determined to make this a success.

"It is important that you try and get people who care about the club or have an affiliation with it, and Eric certainly has that. He was here when I arrived nine years ago and we have always remained in touch.

"It is a very good appointment for us because Carlisle have produced a number of players through Eric's youth team and while I'm sure they'll be sad to see him go, we are delighted to have him on board."

still can't see the Phil Jones thing that some people go on about. Whenever I watch him play it's a repeat of headless chicken meets a gurning Bambi on ice for 90 minutes.

P

robably the first list I've come across in a long time where I agree with a large majority of what was written. Can't agree with everything though, Zaba has had an awful season by his standards, I'd put Monreal (a player who I've never rated) up there, gotta give credit where it's due, he's really stepped up his game.
