The match between Football League founder-member County and Rovers, the three-time champions of England, is one of six special anniversary fixtures to celebrate 125 years since the beginning of the world's original league football competition in 1888.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer's first home game after taking permanent charge of the club is against Nottingham Forest on 10 August.

At the end of August, they face Lancashire rivals Bolton at Ewood Park, followed by a trip to another local rival, Burnley, for the East Lancashire derby at the start of September.

October sees them travel to two more Lancashire sides; Wigan and Blackpool.

Rovers are at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day and are away at Leeds at the start of 2014.

Blackburn, who finished 17th in the Championship last season, close their campaign with the return fixture against newly-relegated Wigan on 3 May.

et again Barcelona try to convince the world that they only play the most virtuous of football. I've never seen a team so willing and able to dish out lumps but feel so self-righteous that no opposition player should ever have the audacity to tackle them.

d love to see a United v Liverpool FA cup final. It would certainly fit the narrative. Obv I'd want the ending to be one of an O.G. and tears as he collects his runner-up medal.

But Biting Doesn't Hurt Like Stamping...

There are Liverpool fans arguing that Luis Suarez is nowhere near Diego Costa's sh*t-house league but we have plenty of love for the agitator too. Oh and Spurs...

It's an afternoon Mailbox that offers the reaction to the reaction, with a defence for Diego Costa offered, and Balotelli mooted to move to QPR. Plus a silly idea about the Mails...
