Campbell has been allowed to spend time with his family and is unavailable for this weekend's match against Millwall at Ewood Park.

The 32-year-old was among six people who were arrested by the National Crime Agency after an investigation by the Sun on Sunday.

Former Portsmouth defender Sam Sodje was filmed by the newspaper claiming he received £70,000 for getting himself sent off in a League One fixture last season.

Campbell incurred a yellow card in the Championship clash against Ipswich last week, an incident which is believed to be at the centre of police enquiries.

A Blackburn statement read: "In light of this week's events, Rovers can confirm that DJ Campbell has been given time to spend with his family and therefore will not be involved in Saturday's Championship fixture with Millwall at Ewood Park. The club will be making no further comment."

Manager Gary Bowyer admits he was surprised by the recent allegations about spot-fixing, but insists the media reports have not unsettled his players.

"We've focused on what we can control and that's the training," he said.

"Obviously it's been in the press, but like the statement says, we can't talk about it at the moment.

"We've just controlled the training and the focus has been on that and Millwall. Training has been of a high standard and the lads were very good this morning."

When asked about increased media attention, he said: "It wouldn't be the first time that's happened at this football club, would it?

"We're quite used to it and we know how to conduct ourselves. Like you say, we're just concentrating on the football.

"It shocked everyone. You had everyone in the game talking about it. It's something that shouldn't be in the game, but the proper people are going to deal with it.

"The PFA work tirelessly at it and they were in at the start of the season with our lot. I know they work very hard on all matters, not just that, they do a great job for it."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
