Manager Specials

So who will replace David Moyes as manager of Everton after his appointment as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor at Manchester United? Wigan's Robert Martinez heads the betting. Check out the latest odds

The 21-year-old - who has found first team chances limited in recent weeks - has asked to play for Liverpool's U21 side to gain more game time, something that has impressed his manager.

Rodgers said: "Jonjo is a great kid, he wants to learn and he is prepared to work hard. He hasn't had so many chances recently, but he is still a great prospect.

"He played in a reserve game recently, and asked to be used in the holding position because he wants to learn about the role, and about his craft.

"That shows the attitude he has."

If I had seen how s**t Joe Allen was I`d be trying to force him out of the starting line up too.
