Mamadou Sakho has insisted he has yet to reach peak form during his impressive start to the season with Liverpool.

Mamadou Sakho: Has started every game for Liverpool since joining from PSG

The 23-year-old defender has been an ever-present in the Reds' starting line-up since Brendan Rodgers signed him from Paris Saint Germain on transfer deadline day.

But the France international believes he still has plenty of room for improvement as he looks to help consolidate Liverpool's position in the Premier League top four.

"I'm not yet at 100 per cent, I'm progressing with each match that we have," Sakho told the Liverpool Echo.

"I work every day at training sessions to progress and to achieve the highest level. It's logical that I would improve.

"When you arrive in a country you don't know, you have to learn quickly about the differences in the game and have to get on and adapt yourself to the qualities of your team-mates."

Sakho's encouraging early-season form prompted France manager Didier Deschamps to recall the defender for their recent friendly against Australia, in which he featured as a second-half substitute.

"Certainly it has made me happy to get my place back in the national team," Sakho added.

"I have to reach my own goals and I do everything to achieve those goals. I work every day and I'm super proud to be back with the national team that I'm a member of.

"One of the big goals for any player is to represent their country as well. I want to represent my country with pride, as all players would."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
