This is why we all love football so much.

Wigan were given no hope of toppling the mighty Manchester City at Wembley - and you could get 10-1 on them to lift the FA Cup.

But Roberto Martinez, Dave Whelan and all the Latics fans who travelled down to London believed - and were rewarded for their faith when Ben Watson leapt, like a Lawrie Sanchez-styled salmon, to steer home a header from Shaun Maloney's corner in the 90th minute.

There's no doubt that Wigan deserved the win too - with Callum McManaman running City's defence ragged and drawing two awful tackles from Pablo Zabaleta, who was sent for an early bath.

Now they must turn their attention to avoiding relegation, while speculation over Roberto Mancini's future will only intensify in the coming weeks.

But for now, pop the champage and take a bow Wigan, the 2013 FA Cup winners.
