Following a lacklustre first-half, Thomas set a second-half blitz in motion at London Road with his first goal since joining the Seasiders on loan from Bournemouth.

"I'm delighted to get my first start, a goal and a win - I'm buzzing," he told the Blackpool Gazette.

"Once I got the goal, I felt the pressure on my shoulders go and I got more confidence on the ball.

"The first half was very difficult as they got on the ball and passed it pretty well.

"We dug deep in the first half, got in at 0-0 and in the second half we dominated them.

"It was tough in the first half. I was almost up there by myself but we got through it in the end."

Thomas starred for Pool boss Michael Appleton when both were at Portsmouth earlier this season, but the 25-year-old admits he was not expecting a move to the npower Championship outfit to materialise.

"I was surprised Blackpool came in for me but it's a great opportunity," he added.

"I came back from Portsmouth and told Bournemouth I wanted first-team football. They couldn't guarantee that, so I asked if I could go. I'm delighted with the chance at Blackpool."
