Camp's future at the City Ground has come under scrutiny in recent weeks, with Reading reportedly interested in the Northern Ireland international, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has been Forest's first-choice keeper since the summer of 2009 -but new boss Alex McLeish has offered him a fresh start elsewhere.

McLeish also confirmed that Karl Darlow, recalled from a loan spell at Walsall on Thursday, is in line to make his full league debut for the Reds in their npower Championship fixture at home to Peterborough at the weekend.

"I told Lee that he could speak to his agent about finding another club," McLeish told the club's official website. "It was face-to-face. I told him that I had to make changes and that I knew there had been some frustration between him and the club over a period of time.

"I said that I wanted to bring a goalkeeper in and that I thought it wouldn't be right for a man of his stature to be sitting on the bench as number two.

"I sought the reassurance of my coaches about Karl Darlow. He will play until we get an experienced goalkeeper in. We're confident about him - he's 22 years of age, there's no reason why he shouldn't be able to cope.

"The only thing against him is his lack of experience but Blackburn threw a boy (Jake Kean) in ahead of Paul Robinson a couple of weeks ago and he has never looked back.

"We've got the same high hopes for Darlow. It's a great chance for him. We're looking for him to show the same level of confidence as he does in training and as he did in his recent games for Walsall - two shut-outs."

adly this is inevitable. No club outside the top 4/5 can hang on to anyone who shows that kind of talent anymore. Might be best for them to get as much as they can now while his stock is high and start again. On the plus side lads, Grant Holt is still available.
