The result left Ipswich closer to the drop zone in 17th, three points ahead of third-bottom Huddersfield and Millwall are just a point ahead of them and lie 14th, although they have two games in hand because of their FA Cup run.

McCarthy said nerves were to blame for a scrappy game but he was happy to be taking a point back to Suffolk which followed on from their victory over Leeds.

"It's a good point, without a doubt, and we've gained four points over Easter from our home game on Saturday and a point here," he said.

"It wasn't a good game - it was pretty poor with two teams in a relegation scrap, where we've been all season long and I think it's probably dawning on Millwall as well now.

"They're one point better off than us and the other teams around us have won so it's nervy.

"The conditions weren't great - it was blowing a gale and it was a bouncy old pitch so it wasn't conducive to a great game of football.

"And yet there were quite a lot of chances and both teams could have won it, but I'll take a point all day long.

"Easter hasn't made or broken us - if anything it's made us a bit worse off despite getting four points because the league's bonkers, just crazy."

think Liverpool should start trying alternative therapy now, given that Sturridge's hips and knees are apparently unfathomable to modern medicine. Voodoo, acupuncture, healing oils, rolling in the snow after a hot bath, its all got to be worth a go now.
