The Bluebirds joined Swansea in the Premier League after a goalless draw with Charlton earlier this month, returning to England's top flight after a 53-year absence.

Tan is now preparing for life in the top tier but despite reports of a big-money move for former Arsenal loanee Aaron Ramsey, the billionaire chief insists he will take a prudent approach to spending.

"I think unless there is an offer too big to refuse, my plan is to stay on for a long time but of course we need to stay on in the Premier League," Tan told reporters in Malaysia.

"But we can't afford superstar players for the time being."
