The former England international, 31, was named Wednesday's Player of the Year in The Star and Green 'Un Football Awards but admitted ensuring their survival this weekend would be at the top of his achievements.

"It's a great compliment (the award)," the keeper told The Star. "I know I've got to perform or I'll be out, because Stephen Bywater is a great goalkeeper.

"It is a magnificent club with a great fanbase. If we could do it (stay up), it would be superb. It will be hard but it would give me great satisfaction. It is what we are striving for.

"We put ourselves into a terrible position earlier in the season; on Saturday we can put that to bed. It's going to be a tough game. Peterborough are a very good team at home."

He added: "We'll have a following there; our fans are magnificent. They support us at home and away in their thousands. Hopefully we can finish it for them, and give them a peaceful last game of the season."

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
