The 28-goal frontman took home four awards as he won the Golden Boot, Goal of the Season, Player's Player of the Year and the biggest prize of them all, Player of the Year.

Austin's goals ensured the Clarets finished in the top half of the npower Championship despite boss Sean Dyche picking up the reigns following boss Eddie Howe's October return to Bournemouth.

The former Swindon forward, who missed the final four games of the campaign with appendicitis, reflected on a memorable campaign after the ceremony on Sunday.

"I scored 28 goals for the lads, but it was all down to them, so for me to take all four awards is massive and it's my best moment," he told Burnley's official website.

"To do this one step below the biggest league in the world, I just can't explain how I am feeling because I've just won four awards at a club with a massive history."

Austin's stunning strike in the 1-0 victory at Charlton in March saw him claim the goal of the season award, while his performances throughout the season did not go unnoticed by his colleagues. The 23-year-old held off competition from Lee Grant, Kieran Trippier and Dean Marney to land the player of the year.

Austin, whose contract expires in 2014, is expected to be the source of serious interest this summer, with Burnley facing a fight to retain his services. The player himself plans to join up with the rest of the squad when training resumes next month.

"It's been a fantastic season and now I am going to go away and look after my girlfriend Bianca, and my little girl Avabella," Austin added.

"I am going to go home for summer and come back here for the first day of pre-season training on June 25."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
