The Potters defender has been sidelined since suffering a broken leg against Sunderland in October 2012.

The 25-year-old has, however, made steady progress in his rehabilitation and is closing on full fitness.

He came through a friendly run-out against Burnley on Tuesday unscathed and is due to take part in a reserve outing on Monday.

Should he suffer no setbacks in that fixture, Wilson believes he will come back into first-team contention for Stoke's next Premier League clash.

He told The Sentinel: "I am looking towards the Fulham game. I think the game on Monday will benefit me and then I have the rest of the week to get myself right for the weekend.

"I want to be back out on the pitch. Just watching isn't the same."

On getting 90 minutes under his belt in midweek, Wilson added: "The main objective for me was to get fitness out of the game.

"I am not feeling any twinges, more stiffness than anything."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
