The winger, who arrived at Turf Moor on deadline day, could make his debut in the first East Lancashire derby of the season against Blackburn on September 14.
Kightly played under Clarets boss Dyche while on loan at Watford from Wolves two seasons ago.
And he says the opportunity to work with the 42-year-old once again was too good to turn down.
"Playing under the gaffer from my time at Watford I know how he likes to work, I think his training is very good, I like the way he likes to play - the intensity that he likes to work at, along with Woany (Ian Woan) and Tony (Loughlin) the staff he had at Watford," said Kightly.
"I know what I'm getting from them, and his man-management more importantly is probably the best I've played under.
"I've played under a few managers who've had different styles. I like the way this manager works."
