Maxime Gonalons: Staying with Lyon

Speaking during a press conference Aulas used the time to clear up speculation surrounding a number of his star players.

And starting with club captain Gonalons - who is also on Arsenal's radar - Aulas said: "Unfortunately there are several clubs that made offers, one of them superior to 15million Euros.

"But he is part of our strategy. And with that, I know Max wants to stay at Lyon."

Aulas then moved onto other members of his squad, including Yoann Gourcuff who has also been linked to Arsenal and is under contract until 2015.

Aulas Added: "Yoann is part of the players that have had no real success at Lyon.

"We didn't receive an offer for him, but we had talks about a possible departure."
