The Giallorossi swept aside Bologna 5-0 on Sunday to record their sixth straight victory in Serie A.

The result lifted Roma two points clear of closest rivals Napoli and Juventus at the top of the standings after six games played.

"I haven't changed my mind," Garcia said to Gazzetta dello Sport. "Our aim this season is to get back into Europe and at most to get into the final sprint with the other favourites like Napoli and Juventus.

"We will see when we play against them what level we are at.

"They are only two points behind us and that is nothing."

Roma finished a disappointing sixth last term and failed to qualify for European competition after losing the Coppa Italia final to city rivals Lazio.

Under Garcia, who joined Roma from Lille this summer, the Giallorossi have looked solid.

They have scored 17 goals - nine Roma players have already found the back of the net so far - while they have conceded just once in six games.

"There isn't a perfect team," Garcia said. "There's always room for improvement.

"However, the merit is of the players, who are playing with enthusiasm and joy.

"We have talented players and we have seen this so far."

Roma travel to the San Siro to face Inter Milan on Saturday.
