The 25-year-old Dutch international is on a season-long loan at Swansea from Villarreal, and has been a huge hit in South Wales since his arrival.

De Guzman's performances led to him making his international debut against Italy in January, and he now has three caps for his country.

"It's every player's dream to play in a World Cup," De Guzman stated.

"Now that I'm in the squad I've got a chance to do that, so I have to take that chance.

"It has been a great season so far. Winning the Capital One Cup and doing so well with Swansea, as well as winning a Dutch cap, is all a bonus for me.

"It would be good for me to stay here. I have no clue what's being talked about, so it's basically a waiting game for me, but I've made it clear that I want to stay at the club."

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has also expressed his desire to keep De Guzman at the club, who has been a regular in the manager's five-man midfield this season.

alcao really needs to shine now. Apparently according to the stats, he scores more when played up front alone. I wonder if Van Gaal will actually apply a formation to get the best out of him though.
