Lennon made nine changes, with Tuesday's first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Juventus in mind, and was rewarded with a convincing display.

Debutants Tom Rogic and Rami Gershon both caught the eye with the latter scoring the Hoops' second goal as they fought back after Nick Ross' early opener for Caley.

"I'm delighted it was a great performance," said Lennon. "Rogic and Gershon made their debuts and didn't seem fazed at all. All of the team were great.

"I thought we thoroughly deserved to win it. To come here to a side in second place who were playing their first team, and to win with that team we had, speaks volumes for the performance of the players."

Lennon was particularly pleased with man-of-the-match Rogic after he set up Kris Commons' equaliser after 20 minutes.

"I thought Tom may take time to settle but I think he's settled!" he said. "It shows I can trust my young players."

Rogic was delighted to make an impact following his January transfer window move from A-League side Central Coast Mariners.

"It gave me a taste of what life at Celtic Football Club is all about," he said.

"It's important to make an early impact but it is not everything. The coaches are the ones that see everything you do in training.

"I'm just going to keep working hard and get my head down.

"It's been unreal. The fans are fantastic. The fans today were awesome and gave us a lot of support which helped push us over the line."
