The on-loan Wolves forward is Hibs' top scorer with 16 Scottish Premier League goals this season - a haul that includes all four of the Edinburgh side's goals in their two previous meetings with Saturday's opponents St Mirren.

The rest of his team-mates have found the net just 17 times between them and Hanlon claims it is time he and his Leith colleagues started delivering week in week out just like Scotland international Griffiths, starting on their weekend trip to Paisley.

Hanlon said: "Leigh's our top scorer this season and has got all four goals we've scored against St Mirren this season.

"But we're now looking for some others to chip in with goals and take the pressure off him a bit."

Griffiths is clearly Hibs' danger man this weekend having bagged a brace in August's 2-1 win over Saints in Paisley, before repeating the trick in a victory by the same scoreline in November.

But 23-year-old Hanlon claims the home side will provide plenty to worry about at St Mirren Park.

Esmael Gonclaves was snapped up by Buddies boss Danny Lennon on a short-term loan deal from Portuguese side Rio Ave and hit the ground running with four goals in his first three games.

Veteran striker Steven Thompson, meanwhile, has scored 14 goals of his own this term and that is enough to concern Hanlon.

He said: "I haven't seen much of the new lad Gonclaves but he has come in for them and scored goals for them right away. So he will be a threat for them.

"But they also have a lot of other good players. St Mirren like to play good football and have Thompson up front and Paul McGowan is another good player.

"There's a lot we need to watch but I'm sure if we can keep them quiet we will have a chance of winning the game."
