The Englishman joined the Glasgow giants 18 months ago from Nottingham Forest after signing a pre-contract agreement in January 2011.

But the deal upset Forest boss Billy Davies, who axed the 27-year-old from his City Ground squad for the remainder of his spell with the npower Championship club.

After arriving at Parkhead, Wilson did help Celtic recover from 15 points down on title rivals Rangers to claim the SPL crown but injuries and poor form limited him to just 21 appearances in his first season in Scotland.

This term, however, he has been a key component of the side that has built up a 15-point lead in the league and reached the last-16 of the Champions League.

And with 41 outings in green and white so far, the centre-half is in a happier place.

He told the Celtic View: "I've played a lot this year. I think this has been the most I've played in almost three years.

"I had my issues in my last season at Nottingham Forrest, I wasn't training or playing, and then at Celtic I've had injuries or not been able to get into the team because they have been doing well.

"But this season has been a good run for me and I'm enjoying it. When you enjoy it, it makes it easy, but if you're happy with personal things, it's 10 times easier and that's how it's been this year.

"I think winning the league this season would mean even more to me than last year. Things weren't right on a personal note so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.

"A lot of things have been right this year - not perfect, but right - so I've got on with my football and I think it's shown."

m absolutely disgusted that I've been misquoted in saying that if a chance came up to join Arsenal I would be interested. What I meant to say is if Man United or Chelsea were interested......
