Former Rangers striker Nacho Novo has ruled out a return to the club, insisting he just doesn't figure in boss Ally McCoist's plans.

Despite receiving a hero's welcome when he turned up at their Ramsdens Cup win over Albion Rovers on Sunday, the Ibrox icon hasn't done enough to secure another move to the club.

"They all know I would love to sign," he told the Daily Record.

"But Ally has his own ideas and I have to respect that."

The 34-year-old Spaniard will continue his search for a new club, but admits it would be tough to play against Rangers.

"Of course it would be difficult, but you never know what can happen in football," he added.
