So few and far between have first-team opportunities been that the Australia international has headed home to try and get minutes under his belt ahead of the World Cup.

A loan spell at Melbourne Victory is intended to restore his match sharpness and better prepare him for another shot at Scottish football next season.

Rogic is, however, aware that fierce competition for places at Parkhead will make it difficult for him to earn recognition and acknowledges that his situation may not improve in 2014/15.

The 21-year-old playmaker said in the Daily Record: "Celtic has been a good experience but I won't lie, it has been tough.

"I don't think I realised what a big club they are. The expectation on the players is just enormous.

"Kris (Commons) plays in my position and he's the top scorer. He scores almost every week.

"It's difficult for anybody to come in and take his place.

"Some of these guys at Celtic have skill that would blow your mind. It was after two or three weeks that it dawned on me and I thought, 'This is hard. This is much tougher and sharper than back home'."

irst Townsend, now Chiles. What next ITV? Comedy that you can actually watch without vomiting up your own spleen? I'll be sad to see Matt Smith go though. I actually quite like him. Plus, he was good in Doctor Who.

wful, awful pundit. He was crap on BBC, and offered a little more analysis than Robbie Savage - apart from the delivery of banality in a sexy accent. Also, as I'm Irish he'll never be more then a slimy, hand-balling f**ker in my eyes.
