Johnson has been told to find a new club as Wolves adapt to life in the third tier following back-to-back relegations and the centre-back is yet to turn out for Kenny Jackett's side this season.

Midfielder Jamie O'Hara, who is also up for sale, has featured for the Under-21s in a bid to impress any potential suitors yet Johnson has neglected to do likewise.

However, Jackett denies that decision was a rebellious act on Johnson's part.

Speaking to Wolves' official website, the manager explained: "Roger didn't refuse to play but he feels that at present the training is keeping him fit and he doesn't need the games.

"I'm not one that makes people play in the Under-21s. If the senior players want to play, I can suggest I think it's best for whatever reason.

"Take Jamie O'Hara as an example; the possibilities of people coming to watch him are there if he plays to make himself available and make himself and feel match-fit.

"I would speak to the player but in no way would I implement it and say 'I want people to play'.

"But I'm sure if I'd have said I wanted Roger to play, he would have.

"He is not in my plans and whatever he needs to do to keep himself fit to move on is fine."

ou spend £200 million in one year and you say 3 years to win the title, I don't think the Man U board signed you to win the title in 3 years after shelling out that sort of cash. Spending that sort of money you should be challenging for the title in this season, not getting an early excuse in to try appeasing the fans and board.
