Martin Cranie: Experienced defender wanted by a number of clubs

The 27-year-old was one of the club's top performers last season and Barnsley are bracing themselves for a number of offers for the defender.

A former England Under-21 international, Cranie boasts a wealth of experience having played in the Premier League for both Southampton and Portsmouth earlier on in his career.

Cranie spent three years at Coventry City, playing over 100 games for the Sky Blues before moving to Oakwell as a free agent in 2012.

Following Barnsley's relegation to League One last term it is thought that the versatile defender, who has only a year left on his contract, will be heading out of the Oakwell exit door with a number of clubs after his signature.
