Robins: Reaffirms his commitment to Coventry

City were bottom of League One when Robins took the reins three months ago and the former Barnsley manager has overseen a remarkable change in fortunes.

Only four of his 18 games in charge have ended in defeat and the Sky Blues booked their place in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy northern area final with a dramatic midweek victory over Preston.

Such fine form saw Robins installed as the bookmakers' favourite to succeed Dean Saunders at the Keepmoat Stadium but the former Manchester United striker has distanced himself from a return to Yorkshire.

"Absolutely I can put that to bed," Robins told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire. "Opportunities will come and opportunities will go, but I'm not going anywhere.

"I'm happy to work here for these supporters and come into work every day with this bunch of players and this board of directors.

"There's still a lot of work to do, but I want to be a part of that and bring this football club out the other side of a difficult spell.

"I've been here for only three months and I'm happy to stay here and try to keep everybody pulling in the right direction."
