The Sky Blues were ahead as early as the fourth minute through exciting top scorer Callum Wilson and had several chances to increase that advantage before the break.

However, the hosts rallied in the second period and Tom Bradshaw showed a keen eye for goal when he confidently swept home an equaliser from substitute Curtis Main's cross.

Pressley, whose side were repeatedly frustrated by Shrewsbury goalkeeper Chris Weale in a first half they controlled, stressed: "It keeps the momentum going but it's a game that, on reflection, I certainly felt we could have won."

However, keen to sound an upbeat note even though the Sky Blues continue to prop up the table after being deducted 10 points on the eve of the season, Pressley insisted he was impressed with much of what he saw from his side.

"I thought we were exceptional again in the first half," he said. "We scored early, which we have been doing in a number of games, and we had numerous chances to add to that.

"If you're asking me about the team's performance and their attitude towards the game, it's outstanding at this moment in time.

"At the end of the game our supporters showed how much they are appreciating the players' efforts. They truly are working as hard as they possibly can for this football club and I'm really, really proud of them."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
