Pressley hails Wilson form

Coventry boss Steven Pressley has heaped praise on top-scorer Callum Wilson after he finally overcame his dreadful run of form.

Callum Wilson: Back to his best

The 21-year-old became the Football League's leading goalscorer when he netted twice in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Colchester to take his goal tally for the season up to eight.

Pressley has described Wilson's recent form as "sensational", but he was not so impressed with his star-striker's performance when the Sky Blues took on TSV Wachtendonk in pre-season.

Pressley told the club's official website: "His form has been sensational and it is simply down to hard work from him. He has a better understanding of his strengths and his weaknesses now which is very important as we see him play to his strengths now.

"He is making us all incredibly proud at the moment. I am disappointed for him as he missed out on Player of the Month but he responded really well against Colchester, exactly the right attitude.

"He has come a long way in a very short period of time. I remember, during a pre-season match against TSV Wachtendonk, I brought him on in second half.

"If I had his contract there and then, I would have shredded it. I wanted to bring him off after 10 minutes. But now, he is playing so well.

"I am really pleased for him as he has had his injury problems which can be difficult to take in the early stages of your career. There is definitely more to come from him."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
