Steven Pressley: Happy with the win

The Sky Blues could claim to have been the league's entertainers after scoring 13 and conceding eight during a three-game spell in August.

But they needed to show different qualities at Stevenage to claim a first win in three games after Leon Clarke pounced on Robin Shroot's poor back pass to put the Sky Blues ahead on 33 minutes.

And while Jon Ashton almost grabbed a point for Stevenage at the close, Pressley claimed his side were deserved winners.

"It was a brilliant team performance, full of energy, guts and courage," he said.

"I'm very proud as we've not always been able to win in that manner this season, 1-0 away from home, so it was a pivotal day for us as we've proved we can win this sort of game.

"I'm pleased for the players and the supporters, who were magnificent. We've only had one clean sheet this season so it was so important to get one with a mature performance from a young team.

"The goal came from our pressure on them and our desire to win the ball back. I want us to be an exciting team who play great football but we need to keep more clean sheets and we've done that.

"We have a brilliant group of young players here who couldn't work harder for this football club. I'm so proud of them all."

arish is the man to blame for this shambles. Pulis must be chuckling into his left over turkey sandwich. I pray this doesn't mean the Neil Warnock media machine will kick in now and he'll be back on the telly box.

e almost found a new way to lose, just when I thought it was getting boring Giroud does that. Although Arsenal are deservedly called 'soft' the entire midfield is out injured. Still must admit MU are managing to win despite a similar raft of absentees. Think the Gunners have good players but poorly coached.
