Steven Pressley: Staying grounded

Despite their 10-point deduction at the start of the season, the Sky Blues look quite capable of figuring in the promotion race as they recorded their eighth win of the campaign over a Saddlers side who had lost just one of their last eight.

Pressley's side currently sit 13th in League One, just five points off the top six.

But the Scot said: "We are only 14 games into the season and it's far too early to even discuss that. If your talk to me 10 games from the end of the season and we are there or thereabouts, that's a different matter."

Pressley praised the attitude and work-ethic of his players as they came out on top at the Banks's Stadium.

It was a game on a knife edge, won by a 54th-minute goal by Franck Moussa, his seventh of the season, when Walsall goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell could only deflect Leon Clark's header to the midfield man following a Carl Baker corner.

Pressley said: "I thought it was a very professional performance from my team. The work-ethic was exceptional.

"We were aware of Walsall's strengths, their manager has done an incredible job here and I think they are a terrific team despite losing three of their most potent players from last season."

Pressley, whose side had 2,200 fans at the away game, was asked if playing home fixtures at Northampton's Sixfields Stadium was a handicap, and replied: "It doesn't seem so. We have won five out of seven there.

"But when we are winning games with the commitment these players are showing, you would love more of our supporters to see that."
