Sean O'Driscoll: Happy with his side's effort

Late goals from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Joe Bryan earned the Robins their first home league win since March 9 when they beat Middlesbrough in a Championship fixture.

But head coach O'Driscoll declined to label it a turning point and said: "Everyone was saying that when we won at Carlisle recently and we then turned in our worst display of the season against Oldham on Saturday.

"I'm pleased for the players and the supporters because they have been through a lot. We are trying to win over hearts and minds at the moment with what we are trying to do at the club and results like this certainly help.

"It wasn't the quality of our football that won us the game. But the players dug in and showed some character when Crawley tried to get some fluidity into their play.

"The victory gives us something to build on. I want to see us pass the ball better and there was a shortage of confidence at times but the attitude was right and that is very important."

till reckon Chelsea will go for Khedira as back up for Matic. I think it will turn out to be quite a Mourihno-y window: We'll see the squad players and youth in action pre-season, say things like well, we need not buy anybody and then the club will bid £60m for Pogba and send everybody on loan.

would love to be a fly on the wall at the meeting between Milner and Rodgers. I don't know if flies can count, but if they can then I would be counting the number of times Rodgers used the word outstanding in his attempts to get Milner to sign.

Reds and Arsenal chase Milner

ell, it wouldn't be a summer without Arsenal fans fretting over losing a key player, and United throwing their weight around and muscling in on transfer deals which are (apparently) near to completion. If we can't be entertained by the football on the pitch, let's enjoy the silly off-pitch soap opera of the transfer season. Hurrah!
