The defender turned a loan deal into a permanent switch in February when he signed an 18-month deal having had his contract cancelled by Aston Villa by mutual consent.

Beye featured 22 times for Rovers last season as they suffered relegation to League One, but boss Saunders has revealed the 34-year-old will not be plying his trade at the Keepmoat Stadium next term.

"We've come to an agreement with Habib. We haven't done the paperwork yet, but he won't be here next season," Saunders told BBC Radio Sheffield.
