Subject to league approval, Coppinger will be available for Rovers' New Year's Day meeting with Sheffield United.

The 31-year-old failed to make an impact at the City Ground after linking up with former Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll.

But following O'Driscoll's departure on Wednesday, Coppinger will return to the Keepmoat to bolster their promotion push.
