The pair, who came through the ranks at Manchester United together at the turn of the century, have been training with Rovers recently.

With injuries mounting at the Keepmoat Stadium, boss Brian Flynn is considering bolstering his title-chasing squad for the final 10 games of the League One campaign.

"Danny Webber is someone I'm most certainly looking at bringing into the club, we're looking very closely at him," said Flynn, whose injury list includes defender Rob Jones, midfielders Paul Keegan, David Syers and Martin Woods and strikers Chris Brown and Robbie Blake.

"Mark Wilson has been in with us for as long as I've been here. He is a good pro, I've known him a long time and it's a case of whether I can cover all options.

"If I feel there is someone out there who can improve the squad, then I'll have to look at it."

Webber, 31, is a free agent having been without a club since he was released by Leeds at the end of last season.

Wilson left Rovers after six years in January 2012. He signed for Oxford but was released by the League Two club in the summer. The 34-year-old most recently played for non-league Gainsborough Trinity on a match-by-match basis.
