Peter Clarke: Closing in on a move to Doncaster Rovers

Experienced defender Clarke is available on a free transfer after leaving Huddersfield earlier this summer.

Clarke was a big fans' favourite at Huddersfield after making 224 appearances in five years with the Terriers.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest in signing Clarke, but Doncaster are in pole position to land the centre-back.

Rovers boss Paul Dickov is in the market for defensive reinforcements after seeing Gabriel Tamas and Abdoulaye Meite leave this summer and he sees Clarke as a key addition to his side as he plans to win promotion back to the Championship.
