Adam Lockwood's 18th-minute strike and Steven Schumacher's second-half penalty was enough for the Shakers to secure their second home league win of the season, while Whittingham insisted the manager's job is not currently top of the 'to-do list' at Fratton Park.

"There's a huge picture at this football club and there's a lot more things that need to be sorted out rather than the manager at the moment," said Whittingham.

"Of course, it's important that myself and Andy offered to do it, we really want to do it and are happy doing it.

"It's a privilege to do it, but there are bigger things."
