Darren Ferguson: Pleased to open season with home game

Ferguson's men won just eight league matches at London Road last term and lost 10 times in front of their own supporters, contributing to their relegation from the Championship.

Posh begin life back in League One with a home game against Swindon and also host Oldham and Crawley in August with just two of their five league fixtures that month - Notts County and Tranmere - away.

"It's pleasing that we start the season in front of our own supporters," said Ferguson.

"Our home form will be vital. It wasn't good enough last season and that needs to be put right.

"I've had a good look at the fixtures and I believe the first five games are good ones for us. It's important we start the season well."
