The 2012 winners failed to qualify for Europe this season and will therefore begin their League Cup campaign against Sky Bet League One side County, who beat Fleetwood in the first round.

The Reds' city rivals Everton also face League One opposition in the form of Graham Westley's Stevenage while West Brom host League Two newcomers Newport.

Premier League newcomers Cardiff - runners-up to Liverpool at Wembley in 2012 - face a trip to Accrington after James Beattie's side stunned Middlesbrough on Teesside in the first round.

West Ham welcome Cheltenham to Upton Park and Aston Villa take on Sheffield Wednesday's conquerors Rotherham in Birmingham, while Alan Pardew's Newcastle cross the country to meet Morecambe as Fulham venture to Burton.

Top-flight contenders Sunderland, Norwich and Stoke have respective home games against MK Dons, Bury and Walsall but Southampton must travel north to Barnsley as Crystal Palace go west to Bristol City.

Hull are in London to tackle Leyton Orient while recently-relegated QPR entertain Swindon at Loftus Road and Reading visit Peterborough.

There are local derbies at Doncaster and Burnley, with Leeds and Preston looking for the white and red rose bragging rights, and 2011 winners Birmingham take on Yeovil in Somerset.

The remaining second-round ties see Carlisle host Leicester after their penalty shoot-out victory over Blackburn, Nottingham Forest welcome Millwall, Charlton visit Huddersfield and Tranmere entertain Bolton while Brentford face Derby at Pride Park.

There is an all Championship meeting at Watford when Bournemouth come to town in the week commencing August 26.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and current holders Swansea enter at the third-round stage due to their participation in Europe, together with FA Cup winners Wigan who are about to embark on a Europa League campaign despite their relegation from the Premier League.

Full draw for the second round of the Capital One Cup - ties to be played week commencing August 26.

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.
