The two sides are set to meet for the first time since the original Wimbledon club was relocated 60 miles north to Buckinghamshire in 2003.

Fans of AFC Wimbledon had hoped never to meet the Milton Keynes club and there was talk of a boycott before supporters' group Wimbledon Independent Supporters Association decided against it.

But supporters who have purchased tickets and are still unsure about travelling to the game have now been given the option by Betfair to choose not to attend, while ensuring that Wimbledon still receive the ticket money.

The betting company will refund the first 250 fans who hand in their match ticket at an Amnesty Box located in the Kingsmeadow box office before 3pm on Saturday December 1, and will also make a donation to the Dons Trust for every returned ticket.

Dons boss Neil Ardley said: "Everyone connected to this great club knows what an emotive issue it is for us and our supporters. We're grateful to Betfair for taking some of the pressure off what will be a very tough decision. I'm sure our fans will do what's best for both themselves and the club."
