Neal Ardley: Not happy with his players

The manager of the Dons could not contain his frustration after struggling Rovers had romped to a convincing 3-0 win and, with no fixture next weekend, Ardley is already planning a series of tough practice sessions.

First-half goals from David Clarkson and Tom Parkes, plus a late Matt Harrold penalty, gave the hosts a major lift against opponents who finished with 10 men after having midfielder Sammy Moore dismissed for a second yellow card eight minutes from time.

Ardley said: "I can only apologise to our fans. Credit to Bristol for doing all the things necessary to win a League Two game, but we were bullied all over the park.

"We didn't produce an ounce of the energy necessary to compete. I am angry because I told the players exactly what to expect.

"The fans will say we were poor and whatever they are thinking I am thinking 10 times worse. We were dreadful.

"The referee didn't help and I am not going to defend his performance, even though he got the sending-off right. We should have had a penalty early on, but I am not going to hide behind that because we were well beaten."

heyremind me of Utd's treble winning side. Swashbuckling and risk prone. We ha Jaap Stam to paper over the cracks at the back though. Not sure they have their Jaap yet.

he solution is to not feel sorry for any of Jabba, Gold or Sullivan. They're all deeply unpleasant and all deserve each other. If only West Ham would sign Barton and Suarez then no one would ever need to despise any other club.
